At Mass This Morning & Afterwards

25 Feb

It was quiet. Only a few people were inside of the cavernous Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church at Queens Boulevard and Ascan Avenue.
I do not mind the Ordinary Form of The Holy Sacrifice of The Mass on a weekday. With the small crowd, one could almost say that this is an Intimate Gathering of The People of God. I only get upset when certain, Horizontal Music is played, as my prior articles suggest.
I walked this morning with My Most Dear Friend, a Woman with whom I have Theological and Artistic Discussions. Skyscrapers were a topic. You don’t really see them in Europe. They’re mostly American Designs. Where the Art Students League of New York is located at 215 West 57th Street by 7th Avenue, that part of town does NOT NEED another High Rise. In fact, WHY does Forest Hills need High Rise Buildings? The Joke about Forest Hills is that these residents think of themselves as Manhattanites without crossing the “East River”, which is actually a strait which is part of The Atlantic Ocean, as is Long Island Sound.
If these people want to live like Manhattanites, let them cross the 59th Street Bridge.
For My Most Dear Friend told me of Great News, that the Developer is being sued in Court. This is a David Vs Goliath Situation which bears watching.
Go David!

It Is Monday, February 24th, 2014 & CBC RADIO ONE Is Back

24 Feb

The 31st Games of The Winter Olympiad in Russia’s Version of Miami, Sochi, is History.

CBC Radio One is Back. No Longer will I have to be tormented by listening to “The Institute For The Intellectually Challenged”, a Euphemism for Sports Radio 101.9FM, WFAN, where assorted putzes compete for the title of Dummy of 2014.

CBC Sunday Morning is a replay. But it feels good to hear it again.

Eh!

After Traditional, Vertical Catholic Liturgy This Weekend, I Feared Going Horizontal

24 Feb

Saturday at 5PM was the Sublime Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom at Holy Cross Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, where Incense and Prayers reached The Triune God. On Sunday at 9AM was the Sublime Tridentine Latin Mass of 1962, with Holy Water, Incense and Prayers reaching The Triune Godhead.
I had ideas about going to an Ordinary Form of Mass, but after the Transcendent Qualities of the two Traditional Catholic Liturgies, I didn’t feel right if I had gone to the Ordinary Form, where there was a Pretty Good Chance where the atmosphere of the Mass would’ve been ruined by Horizontal Music of the variety of anything written by Guys named Marty, Dan and Dave(Which Names could fill an ESPN Monday Night Football Broadcast Booth).
Horizontal Music is where we tell God how fabulous we are, or usurp Him, speaking His Words, or sing “Hymns”, which are Syrupy Crapola with OURSELVES as Objects of Worship. These are songs which My Most Dear Friend classifies as “Vomit, Barf and Puke”, without apology, mind you. These are “Hymns” in Violation of the 1st of The 10 Commandments.

Can Anybody Here, Sing Tom Conry’s “The Anthem”? If you can, you can do it yourself. Most of us won’t touch it with a 10 Foot Pole. It is a “We’re So Good” song. It is a Song of The Heresy of Secularism which is plaguing One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church. It is a song which Traditionalist Minded Catholics could Throw Up to, easily.

I will keep my Weekend Worship Traditional from East to West. The Ordinary Form in Low Mass is fine on weekdays. It’s the Crapola Music of Sunday which infuriates many to no end.

Vladimir Posner On NBC Sunday Night Football?

24 Feb

The 31st Winter Olympiad of Sochi 2014 in Russia, had an NBC Sports Sunday Night Football Theme to it, with Bob Costas  as In Studio Host, Al Michaels & Chris Collingswood in the Broadcast Booth, with Special Guest Commentator Vladimir Posner.
Vladimir Posner was the English Language Voice of the Now Defunct Union of The Soviet Socialist Republics(USSR). Later, he was a Show Host on CNBC and MSNBC.
Interesting NBC Booth! I can imagine this trio on the Premiere of Sunday Night Football.
Only Time Will Tell!

In “New Sochi”, Be Prepared To Become “Lake Placid”, Dear New York Brethren

23 Feb

With all of this “Sochi Winter” Weather here in New York’s 5 Boroughs, “New Sochi Weather” is ending in about 15 Hours.
It is STILL WINTER. I realize that Reality often BITES.
THE SNOW IS RETURNING. There is a Snow Watch for Tuesday & Wednesday and again on Friday.
The Sochi Winter Olympiad is Over. And NYC returns to Cold Form.

Nevertheless, Thank You Lord God of All Creation for the break which allowed for melting of all that Heavy Snow.

Deum  De Deo, Lumen De Lumine!
Deo Gratias!

Pelegianism Is Heresy

23 Feb

In regards to The Heretical Belief that one can earn One’s Salvation on One’s Own, be prepared to be refuted by The Redoubtable Fr Joseph F Wilson, who offered The Holy Sacrifice of The Mass, in the Extraordinary Form, called The Tridentine Latin Mass of The 1962 Edition of The Roman Missal(T L M 1962).
For Fr Wilson explained that God’s Gift of Salvation is a Free Gift from Him. It is up to us as to whether we accept or reject that Gift.
As my Most Dear Friend accepted the Gift of Conversion to The Fullness of Christ in His One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church, God offers His Gift of His Grace.
Please accept His Gift, for it is Great.

Pax Domine Sit Semper Vobiscum!
Deo Gratias!

“Tridentine Sugarless With A Latin Beat With Chant Called Gregorian”

23 Feb

The 9AM Tridentine Latin Mass of The Missale Romanum of 1962 will be offered today at St. John’s Cemetery Chapel at 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village, Queens, NY.
Whereas the Byzantine Ukrainian Greek Catholics and other Byzantine Rite Catholics call this “Sunday of Meat Fare” just before Great Lent, which actually begins on a Monday of Next Week after “Sunday of Cheese Fare”, those Roman Catholics of the Tridentine Latin Mass Traditional Calendar, observe these next two Sundays called Septuagessima and Sextuagesima Sunday, minus the “Gloria” and “Alleluia”, with Vesting Priest and or Deacon, in Purple Vestments, as a Sign of Penance, prior to the Start of Lent. This lasts until the Easter Vigil Liturgy on Holy Saturday After The Setting of The Sun.
In the Ordinary Form of the Roman(Latin)Rite, it is a Sunday of Ordinary Time, with Vesting Priests and or Deacons in Green Vestments until Ash Wednesday and the Start of Lent.
The Byzantine Rite Catholics do not have Ash Wednesday. The Roman(Latin)Rite Churches do have Ash Wednesday.
In The Ordinary Form Mass, for The Sacred Readings, it is Antiphon, Epistle, Psalms, Alleluia, Gospel & Homily.
In The Byzantine Rite, it is Antiphon, Exhortation(“Let Us Be Attentive”), Epistle, Alleluia, Exhortation, Gospel and Homily.
In the Extraordinary Form(T L M), it is Introit, Epistle, Graduale, Tract and Gospel with Homily. But in this Form, Epistle, Graduale, Tract and Gospel are chanted in Latin, followed by Proclamation of Epistle and Gospel in The Vernacular with Homily.
Gospel Reading in Ukrainian Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom concerned The Last Judgement, for what is called “The Awesome Tribunal” in the Holy Mass.
I must be attentive and ready to head to Mass.

Pax Domine Sit Semper Vobiscum!
