I Went “East For 5 Loaves & 2 Fish”

3 Aug

I was at the Byzantine Catholic Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom at Holy Cross Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Astoria, Queens. Fr Cyril OSBM offered the Liturgy in English.

“5 Loaves of Bread and Two Fish & Feeding for 5,000 Men”;
Mother Teresa was once a Nun who taught at a Rich Girl’s School in Calcutta in British India. But, passing through the Streets, She saw so many Starving People. Eventually, even if She couldn’t feed everyone, She would feed as many as She could. The Missionaries of Charity were founded by Her to do that and more.
For The Christ to feed 5000 Men, He performed The Miracle of The Loaves and Fishes.
But we may not be able to do that, but if we are able to feed some, we are making a dent in the Problem, hence, we are following Jesus’ Example.
The Homily was quite good, as is usually the case in the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, which I have been to 14 times since November, 2013. I also get a Good Homily during the Tridentine Latin Mass, especially from Fr Joseph F Wilson.
This will continue to be a Traditionalist Cycle with The Holy Sacrifice of The Mass.

Dominus Meus et Deus Meus.
