11th Sunday After Pentecost(Tridentine Latin Mass)

25 Aug

For the Last Several Weeks, as part of my weekends of “The Avoidance of The NO Mass”, NO being shorthand for Novus Ordo Missae, save for two times and the Feast of The Assumption, where after all the Magnificent Hymns, some Treacle called “Gift of Finest Wheat”, of Dubious Eucharistic Theology, as certain Protestants also sing it(Lutherans, Broad Church Anglicans and Methodists do sing it), was sung. I now reserve the Ordinary Form Mass for St. Agnes on East 43rd Street(Venerable Archbishop Fulton J Sheen Place), in Midtown Manhattan, where there is the Chant of the Entrance and Communion Antiphons in Latin, the Chanting in Greek of The Kyrie, The Chanting of The Gloria in Latin, a Beautiful Hymn in English just as the Priest processes up the Main Aisle and the Final Hymn is chanted in Latin and where one often exercises the Holy Option of Kneeling at the Holy Communion Rail to receive the Body of Christ. There is No Armada of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion in this Parish, from whence the Tridentine Latin Mass was freed from the Proverbial Catacombs. One will receive the Most Holy Sacrament of The Altar from a Priest, a Bishop or Deacon.

Most of the Weekends of Summer, 2014, were spent in the Great Company of The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of The Byzantine Rite, at the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom(Bishop, Confessor, Doctor of The Church, who while battling the Arian Heresy of The 4th Century and 5th Century as Patriarch of Constantinople, coined this most appropriate phrase, while a Pope and other Bishops and Priests were ensnared by that Heresy, “The Road to Hell is Paved with the Skulls of Bishops”).

But, it was time to return to the Fully Proper Celebration of The Roman Rite in the Language of The Rite, which is Latin. Instead of The Protestantized Course of Collect, Old Testament, Responsorial Psalm, Epistle, Alleluia, Gospel and Watered Down Homily where Hell is a 4 Letter Word, never to be uttered, it was Collect, Epistle, Graduale, Gospel and Homily.

The Redoubtable Father Joseph F Wilson, who celebrated this Mass as the “Alter Christus” and not as, what the World of The Novus Ordo would call The Presider or President of The Assembly, which sounds more like a School Meeting at PS 144Q in Forest Hills, Queens.

In the Holy Gospel of St Mark Chapter 7, the Story of Jesus Christ curing a Deaf Mute Man, came to life.
We were also told of the case of King Henry VIII, who tried to have his Marriage Annulled, but the Catholic Church said his Marriage was valid to Catherine of Arragon. So the King decided to have control over the Church, which while Catholic in Practice, Sacramentally, would come under Royal, not Vatican Control. All of this was all for an Annulment of his Marriage, for the sake of having a Male Heir to The English Throne.

This is also the story of Saint Thomas More, who while loyal to the King, was Loyal to God. Thomas More refused to give up his Catholic Faith and would not sign the Royal Oath. He died being beheaded in the Tower of London.

In a sense this Applies to St. Paul The Apostle in His 1st Epistle to the Corinthians, Chapter 15, Verses 1 to 10, where Paul spoke of being the Least of The Apostles, but by God’s Grace through Jesus Christ, that Paul keeps on going, in Christ’s Name, as Paul Met Christ on the Road to Damascus, hence the Last Apostle to meet Christ.

Both Saints Paul and Thomas More kept going for The Sake of The Kingdom of God.

Father Joseph F Wilson also saluted the Music Ministry of The Latin Mass.

It felt great to be back at the Tridentine Latin Mass.

Deo Gratias!
