Summer Ends 15th Sunday After Pentecost(Byzantine)

21 Sep

I realize, that this is a Humid Day, but cooler weather is on the way. Hence Autumn arrives tomorrow.

For I will head to the Byzantine Rite Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom at St George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church which begins at 4:00PM. There is an Intense Element of The Sacred in this Liturgy, as well as a lack of The Insipid, which tends to be present in the Liturgical”Muzak”, in the Novus Ordo Missae, which infuriates me, incessantly. Except for Saint Agnes Parish on East 43rd Street(Venerable Archbishop Fulton J Sheen Place in Midtown Manhattan), I would normally not head to the Ordinary Form Mass, as Priests and Choir Director “Say the Black and Do The Red”, that meaning that the Rubrics are followed.
Besides, Receiving Holy Communion via Intinction with the Gold Plated Holy Communion Spoon, is a reminder of Jesus Christ’s Instruction to St. Peter to “Feed My Lambs.”

The Roman Rite allows for Holy Communion under both kinds, but the Byzantine Rite tends to do this correctly, WITHOUT Ministers other than those who have received the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Tomorrow Evening, the Tridentine Latin Mass at 6PM, will be offered at Holy Innocents R C Church on W37th Street in Manhattan. I will head to that Mass.

In both Byzantine Rite and the Tridentine Latin Mass, the Epistle, a Form of The Gradual and the Gospel, are done in Catholic Church Form. The Novus Ordo Opening Prayer, Old Testament, Responsorial Psalm,  Epistle , Alleluia, Gospel, and Homily is a form, presented by an Anglican Bishop.

I will be ready in a short while to head to the Byzantine Rite Divine Liturgy.

Kyrie Elaison
