“The Presentation Of The Gifts”

7 Nov

This is an Ancient Catholic Church Practice which worked, ONLY when in ancient times, when the Faithful actually offered to The Church what they, in the case of The Eucharistic Bread, Baked themselves and for the Eucharistic Wine, aged themselves. But, as time went by, The Catholic Church took care of this process, which then rendered the Lay Procession unnecessary, hence it was written out of The Liturgy.
But, in the Roman Rite Catholic Church in the Novus Ordo Mass, it was added as an alleged “Return to Antiquity.”
It is merely a Transfer of The Eucharistic Elements from one station to another, a Novelty where Members of The Congregation actually look like they are participating in the Mass.
One person got so over enthused that this person actually knocked another person backwards into a somewhat empty pew.
When presenting the gifts, the Priest asked the person “Are you trying out for The Jets.”

Frankly, the NY Jets could use that person’s Blocking Skills. Rex Ryan would’ve loved it. NFL Scouts, do take notice.

Honestly, it would be better if this Practice was eliminated again and before the Offertory that a Chant be sung.

Kyrie Elaison!
