For Tonight It Was A 1st Time Viewing

16 Jul

It was on the Veetle App that I was able to view Fr Christopher Ryan Patrick Heanue, Administrator of Holy Child Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Richmond Hill, NY, at his Solemn Mass of Thanksgiving the Day After His Priestly Ordination.

It feels good to have presented the Live Feed. It is quite good on Replay.

“Sprint”ing To T-Mobile Via Metro PCS

2 Jul

Now I know WHY I fled Sprint’s Virgin Mobile…Virgin Mobile Service was as slow as Molasses if not slower.
I downloaded WordPress and Skype rather rapidly, all without having to expend cash for a Coffee at Starbucks, which was rapidly becoming my Data Centre.
I can now go anywhere on unlimited 4G LTE.

And Starbucks can keep their overrated Coffee.

Gotta Get 16 More GB For This Rig

28 Feb

4 GB Internal Memory is all I have on this APhone. So I will be investing a Small Sum to get a Secure Digital Memory Card.
There are apps which take up space so my plan is for 32 GB. Since Android OS 4.4.2(Kit Kat) takes up 1.3 GB, all I have is 2.7 GB remaining.
I do use this phone to transmit Live Internet Television as well as Video, so extra space is quite needed. 32 GB is maximum and should really add some badly needed space to this Android Phone the LG Tribute, which is made to run on Sprint ‘s 4G LTE and 4G Wi Max Networks. I use Virgin Mobile, a Non Contract Company owned by Sprint.
This Phone doubles as my mobile computer, so if I want to add MS Office or Open Office, I will NEED extra GB.

Funny but 15 Years Ago, often the largest hard drive only had 4 GB on a notebook or desktop. Now the Mobile Phone needs about 8 GB so I might throw in with 16 GB, plus Google Drive for Documents instead of the whole 32 GB Card. The Chromebooks do that. On the other hand Google Drive and 32 GB May come in handier. I once had an iMac which ran with a 20 GB Hard Drive and an eMac which ran on a 60 GB Hard Drive. I had an iPod Touch 4G which ran on 32 GB, but it sometimes ran out of Space due to consumption of one app, which was a Production App, which once consumed 18 GB & I had to remove it several Times, just to run everything and it won’t let you add memory, which is why I appreciate Android for its Flexibility.
Hence I shall make the investment.

Remember Palm & Windows Mobile?

14 Feb

I remember Palm & Windows Mobile. Both are what are called Personal Digital Assistants. This is often where you got your work done. Then you transferred your work to your work computer.

But it wasn’t always pleasant. You had to enter your information using a pencil like device called a Stylus, which didn’t always feel comfortable in one’s hand. There was no touch screen like there is today. The iPhone ushered in the Era of tapping in information, just by tapping your fingers on the screen. Windows followed Apple and then came Android. The old way was the same with Palm Powered and Windows Mobile Phones. And those same phones had to be attached to a main computer.
But now the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, Windows Phones, Windows Tablets and Android Phones and Tablets are basically Mobile Computers, which are independent of Desktop and Notebook Computers. Apple began that trend in 2011.
I guess the Styli are being used for something else. Hors D’Oeurves anyone!
And one’s hands are free from the styli. And that must feel good.

Paying The Bill Differently From Before

13 Feb

It used to be that I would tap in my “Top Up” Card Personal ID Number on the Phone Pad and I was credited with having paid my Virgin Mobile USA bill. But with a new phone, it is not the case.

Now I have to go to the “My Account” Section to enter the “Top Off” Code # and my bill would be paid.
Initially, I did it the old way, but then I  changed to the online form. And it works just fine. The switch confirms this phone as a mobile computer and this
Is how I will take care of payments from now on. One doesn’t NEED to carry the laptop with them with this arrangement.

Two Best Monthly Phone Plans

31 Jan

Note:
Neither is a Contract Plan. Both are plans from a Sprint Subsidiary. And you will get plenty for your money.
In both those plans, you will buy your phones. But you will save over that Contract Plan, where the phones come with the contract, but you save on all those annoying fees and taxes, like the MTA Tax.

I have Virgin Mobile, part of Sprint. I didn’t buy into it for Rock Music. But I do like it for pretty good service plans. Virgin Mobile has two of the best plans for what one may need.
The 1st Plan is for US$20, giving the customer unlimited calling minutes and unlimited text messaging. But to use the web, one must go to a place with Wireless Fidelity. The Only thing here added on is Sales Tax to the monthly fee. But one has to buy a wireless phone, like Android, iPhone or Windows Phone. The phones aren’t subsidized like the Contract Phones are. But you do get a plan comparable to a contract plan.
Another rather good plan is for US$35 where one has a choice between 2.5GB of 4G LTE High Speed Data, plus Wireless Fidelity at your favorite coffee shops and book stores, Unlimited Texting, 300 Calling Minutes and Unlimited 3G Data. The 2nd US$35 Plan is for 500MB of 4G LTE Data, Unlimited Calling, Text and 3G Data.
In NYC, the Sales Tax is added on, so the $20 Plan is $21.80, while the $35 plan is $38.11.
Not bad, in fact, it’s Great.

How To Destabilize A Smartphone?

17 Jan

Load It up with Apps. I removed several apps and the phone works much better. Even when I didn’t need Wi Fi, Wi Fi from one’s Password Encrypted System would interfere with the Data System and the Smartphone would be a pain in the tuchas.
I find that I really like Android. Whereas Apple’s iOS for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch, is wonderfully fun and easy, it doesn’t move apps to The Cloud, the way Android does. Even with 32 GB on an iPod Touch 4G, there is the danger of the whole device being overloaded.

In support of Android OS, this Phone has 1GB of ROM & 360MB of RAM, yet was as much of a workhorse as the iPod Touch 4G. The beautiful part was the Secure Digital Card of 1.2 GB, to free up the operation of the phone.
Granted, this phone was the Low End Android Smartphone, called “Event”, by Kyocera, but it has worked well for over 1 1/2 Years. It has served as my link with the World, acting as an Information and Entertainment System. But, Android OS 4.0.4(Ice Cream Sandwich)satisfied my wishes in what a Bargain Phone should be like. With the Proper App, it can even transmit live internet television to the World(And We had a Good # of Viewers, especially on Veetle.com and on Bambuser.com). This phone allowed me to move way past You Tube, on a proverbial shoestring.

But for a few dollars more, I now have the LG Tribute Phone, with more space and HD 1080p. This will allow for more things to get done. It’s all from Virgin Mobile, a Part of Sprint.
I cannot complain, as a Woman who I call “My Most Dear Friend”, supplied the money to buy this phone. I am most grateful to her.
To members of my own family, who gave me a Visa Gift Card, I move on now with LG Tribute Phone from Sprint’s Virgin Mobile.

Life, while not perfect, is still good.
