The OLD, Traditional EWTN With Mother Angelica still in charge, was a Different Kind of Satellite & Cable Television Channel. Trite Tripe such as what was spoken on EWTN last evening, would be replaced by Mother Angelica, who would have “Ripped Obama A New One.” Mother ripped into the Post Vatican II Style Bishops during the Coverage of World Youth Day 1993, as well as ripping into Bill & Hillary Clinton. World Youth Day 1993 was in Denver, CO.
One wonders WHY I stay with Coverage on Tradition Minded Outlets as “The Remnant Newspaper”, “Catholic Family News” & “Harvesting The Fruit of The Vatican II”, especially when Louie Verrecchio produces his own “Ironic Videos”, stuff which would NOT Make the Cut on EWTN. I eagerly await the Commentary of Michael Matt & Christopher Ferrara, as well as from CFN Media with John Vennari.
Of course, for Contrast, Michael Voris will Rip “Cardinal Dolan A New One”, and totally forget Pope Francis.
Pope Francis I is now in Philadelphia, in a City where Booing Funerals & The Phillies are commonplace for “The World Meeting Of Families” is occurring, as a Prelude to “The October Synod AGAINST The Family.” EWTN is carrying that Coverage in “The City of Brotherly Love.”

So The Pope Played The Garden. And NYC is back to Normal.

The Long Papal Day At Central Park NYC

Anticipation was great, so I went to Morning Mass at Our Lady Queen Of Martyrs RC Church in Forest Hills, Queens. It is a Pious Thing to do on the Second Ember Day of Three Ember Days for the Fall Season. It is a way of doing Penance, so I went without Meat & Alcohol.
One Priest, namely OLQM’s Administrator, Fr Francis Passenant had tickets for West 61st Street and Central Park Drive. That gave him proximity to the B Train at Columbus Circle, where he could get it to W53rd Street/7th Avenue to change for the E Train Train back to Forest Hills.
Funny but Fr Frank recommended staying home and watching this on Television.

From Madison Square Garden-O How Novus Ordo

Please! Even With all The “Smells & Bells”, Novus Ordo is Novus Ordo is Novus Ordo Missae.

Even when the Pope offers this before a crowd in Madison Square Garden, The Mass still closes in on itself.

And no matter how fancy, it is still the Form which caused many of the Faithful to say good bye to the Catholic Faith.

Mobile Coverage & Signals In Central Park

In Regards to MetroPCS:
It’s Wholly Owned by T Mobile & the T Mobile Signal & Data were strong 4G LTE. Hey, coverage via Bambuser.com was strong.

Verizon Wireless:
Complaints from users in Central Park were rather numerous, as the Network may have been overcrowded. Trying to transmit Data from Central Park was a chore during the Papal Procession in Central Park. Then again, You Tube was overcrowded.

AT&T was busy. Sprint, well, STILL SUCKS. Text Messaging flowed all around the World from Central Park. I received a text from Europe & responded, as the Message came from AC 917.

This is the Big Difference between Pope Saint John Paul II’s Masses in both Aqueduct Race Track & Central Park. None of us had Smartphones, nor Text Messaging in 1995.

But, This Papal Visit is one for the books and one wonders just how did we do without these conveniences.

We just did!

What Didn’t Exist At The 1995 Papal Visit Of Pope Saint John Paul II

EWTN was NOT on Cable in NYC.
There were NO Smartphones.
SMS(Text Messaging, Two Way) was a Year Away. So was OMNIPOINT Communications.
Email was only sent from Laptops & Bigger Computers.
Wi Fi Hot Spots didn’t exist.

The Brooklyn Diocesan Prayer Channel carried EWTN’s Coverage.

2008 was when Smartphones began to proliferate. The Motorola Moto was capable of carrying Mobi TV. While on a train to Boston’s Fenway Park, I viewed the MSNBC Coverage of Pope Benedict XVI at Ground Zero.

2015 is when I received my Ticket to the Papal Central Park Procession by email as a PDF. I now have the ability to webcast it live over aroamingcatholicny’s Channel on Bambuser. Think of this as Homemade Coverage, live from NYC’s Famed Central Park.

And I thought back to 1979 when both of my Parents were Alive, then to 1995 when Pop was alive & was choked up with emotion. Both have passed on & now I will head into Manhattan for another Papal Visit.
