Three Miracles On The 10th Sunday of Ordinary Time(2nd Sunday After Pentecost)

It was in the Old Testament Reading where The Prophet Elias(Elijah) came into a house where a widow’s young child had died.
He took the child into an upstairs room, put the child on a bed & put his body over the child Three Times. The child came back to life.
In The Gospel according to St Luke, the son of a Widow had died. Jesus came into the house and raised up the son.
Both are Miracles. Both prefigure the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Mother Mary Theotokos was also a Widow.
The Third Miracle occurs at EVERY Catholic Liturgy in The World, as the Offered Bread and Wine becomes The Body & Blood, Soul & Divinity, through the action of The Priest, acting in Christ’s Person as an Alter Christus. This does NOT occur in most Protestant Ecclesiastical Communities because most of these Communities have no VALIDLY Ordained Priesthood.

Kneeling For Communion A Mano-A NOvelty

NO is shorthand for Novus Ordo, as in the so called Ordinary Form of The Mass of The Roman/Latin Rite. The Letters “NO” are the 1st two letters of the word “Novelty.” So called “Inculturation” is a form of Novelty.
In a place where I would go for The Tridentine Latin Mass, St. Agnes on East 43rd Street in Manhattan, I went to the 5:15PM Novus Ordo Mass, where the Propers & Prayers were sung.
At Holy Communion, a number of people are known for heading to the Altar Rail to kneel to receive Holy Communion.
I knelt for Holy Communion & received on the Tongue. But I also noticed something rather weird.
This I noticed as a Novelty. It was kneeling for Holy Communion & still receiving Christ in the Hand. People who stand usually do this, but while kneeling at the Altar Rail?
From here on in at St. Agnes, it will be Tridentine Latin Mass only. I don’t want Novelty at the Communion Rail.

The Gospels Over 3 Days

First Friday was Novus Ordo, as was Saturday, which is called Saturday of Our Lady. Today is the 1st Sunday. It is also the Fourth Sunday In Lent, called Laetere Sunday, which is a Lenten Sunday of Joy. It means that Easter(Pesach) is Nigh. And I was at St. Agnes on E43rd Street in Midtown Manhattan.
Friday, March 4th at 8:00AM & The Mass Celebrant was the Most Reverend Paul Sanchez, aided by the Pastor Emeritus of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in Brooklyn, Monsignor Fursey O’Toole, Irish Born.
The Gospel was the Greatest Commandments, both of which summarize the 10 Commandments. As Jesus said “Thou Shalt Love The Lord Thy God, With All Thy Heart, With All Thy Soul, With All Thy Mind & With All Thy Strength. The Second Great Commandment is “Thou Shalt Love Thy Neighbour as Thyself.” An Example of “Love Thy Neighbour” was given at The 12:05PM Mass by Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Administrator, Fr Frank Passenant & it was an Excellent Example. We don’t always look at Our Parents as Neighbours, but they are the Neighbours closest to you. Hey, They’re Neighbours by Blood. Pray For Them, both Living & Dead.
First Saturday at the 12:05PM Mass was offered by Fr Frank Passenant. This is the Story in The Gospel of The Pharisee & The Publican. The Pharisees were the Learned Religious Men. They were The Priestly Class of Judaism. But, they were NOT always known for their Humility. Everything was OUTWARD, but not always INTERIOR.
Publican is a Nice Name for The Most Hated of Roman Officials, namely The Tax Collector. Many of these Men were conmen, often taking more than what was due. For the Tax Collector was one who often lived like a Fat Cat. For he was a Private Contractor for the Roman Empire, who often took Liberties beyond what was due. And One of The Original 12 Apostles, Matthew, was originally a Tax Collector. He was also one of The 4 Evangelists in The Writing of The Gospels.
In this Gospel, The Pharisee is, in his Prayer to The Lord, bragging about how good he is, while degrading others such as Publicans. This guy was there to be seen, like close to The Sanctuary, practically telling The Lord that his “Excrement doesn’t have a foul odor.”
What A Schmuck!
Meanwhile, The Sinful Publican, barely able to raise his eyes Heavenward, who was all the way in the rear of The Temple, actually recognized the fact that he was a Sinner, & begged The Lord in this manner, “Lord, Be Merciful To Me For I Am A Sinner.”
The Publican received God’s Mercy. The Pharisee only got the Admiration of Man.
For Today on Lautare Sunday, as this is the Sunday indicating, that The Joy of Easter is Near, hence Vestments in the Bright Colour of Pink, Today’s Gospel for The Tridentine Latin Mass is The Miracle of The Loaves Of Bread & Fish. It was only 5 Loaves of Bread and 2 Fish, yet there was enough left over to fill 12 Baskets. There were 5,000 Men who were fed. This was The Miracle of The Loaves & Fish, and Jesus Multiplied the Loaves & Fish. No one left hungry.

So It Was 30″ Of Snow For The Mystical Body Of Christ

So my MTA Subway Connections via both the E & F IND Queens Blvd Line ran local & slowly, but I did head to Ascan Avenue & Queens Blvd, from Jamaica Avenue/Van Wyck Expressway, via the E Train to 75th Avenue. And I made it to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish in Forest Hills, Queens, with time to spare, for the 1PM Mass. It was Septuagesima Sunday on the Tridentine Calendar, which means that Lent is near, and that Christmas Cycle has nearly ended, as Feast Of The Presentation of The Child Jesus & Purification of The Blessed Virgin Mary on February 2nd, ends the Christmas Cycle on the Tridentine Calendar & Byzantine Calendar(Note That February 15th on the Gregorian Calendar is February 2nd on the Julian Calendar, so Christmas Cycle has a way to go). In effect, in the Authentic Roman/Latin Rite, which is the Tridentine Latin Mass & The Sacraments of The Church in the Tridentine Form, is in a period of overlap between the beginning of The Easter Cycle & the End of The Christmas Cycle. The Two Sacred Cycles do meet. One would never know this on the Novus Ordo Mass Calendar of The Roman Rite, where in the “Spirit of Dialogue & Ecumenism” that Time after Epiphany & Time After Pentecost were abolished and follow Ordinary Time, which the Presbyterian & Reformed Ecclesiastical Communities use.
Today is the Third Sunday of Ordinary Time in the Ordinary Form Calendar. The Mass Celebrant was Most Reverend Paul R. Sanchez, Pastor Of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs. The Deacon who proclaimed the Gospel & gave the Homily was Nationally Known Reverend Deacon Greg Kandra(Who resides in Forest Hills, NY).
To that young man who helped me up after I had slipped & fell in the Massive Snow,  Thank You for You are a Witness For The Mystical Body Of Christ.
Deacon Greg Kandra gave a Great Homily regarding The Mystical Body Of Christ, of which we The Baptized belong to, in relation to the Annual March For Life.
A group of Young Catholics got off the Buses, stalled along the Highways outside of Washington, DC, due to Winter Storm Jonas, taking Snow & Building an Altar. Next, many people joined in for Mass at that Snow Altar.
As many people were stranded in vehicles, these Young Catholics were their Aid & Comfort.
Great Catholic Action came forth from This Disaster.

God Supplied The Lemons of Winter Storm Jonas. These Young Catholics Made The Lemonade.

The Solemn “Wave”(2nd Sunday Of Advent)

For on this 2nd Sunday of Advent, I witnessed The Welcoming & Scrutiny of People who are seeking to enter The Catholic Church, via the Ritus Novus Romanus.
As such this Entrance, Six are Actual Catechumens, who are Not Baptized. As Forest Hills, a Section of The Borough of Queens in The Roman Catholic Diocese Of Brooklyn, has a large Jewish Population, a number of times over the years I have witnessed those of Judaism enter The Catholic Faith.
Six more are Baptized Catholics but had not yet received Holy Communion & Confirmation. Then, there are Three who have received Baptism, Confirmation(Chrismation) & Holy Communion as Infants & will make a Profession of The Catholic Faith. This will be done at The Easter Vigil. These are people who are Eastern Orthodox(Greek & Russian). My Most Dear Friend came into The Church in this manner.
These People will be in the Rite Of Christian Initiation of Adults(RCIA), in the Roman/Latin Rite Catholic Church. By Right & according to the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches, Greek & Russian Orthodox would enter into the Corresponding Catholic Rite(Byzantine) via the Roman/Latin Rite.

The Martyrs Wave:
The Sign of Peace has really little to do with The Roman Rite in Practice within the Nave. The Kiss Of Peace is done on The Altar.
This “Sign Of Peace” is imported from the Maronite Catholic Church of The Antiochean Rite. And it is NOT done by looking to shake one’s hand.
As with the Maronites, the Hands are folded in Prayer. An Acolyte is sent to the 1st in each pew & touches the Finger Tip of that 1st Person, who then turns to the right and does the same to the next person. THIS Is The Sign Of Peace. It is done Prayerfully & Ritually.
The Way it is done in The Roman Latin Rite, & only in The Missa Novus Ordo, appears to be chaotic. In Lent, I have seen the Practice made optional. Actually, it is optional. At Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish in Forest Hills, because of there being so much room & many people spaced out, People wave to each other. Hence, even when the crowd is larger, there is a the habit of waving one’s hand. It is why I call this “The Martyrs Wave.”

The Gospel was of St. John The Baptist, who, in the Desert, prepared the People For The Coming Of Jesus Christ. He, John, was The Herald. He was to announce The Coming. He baptized People in The River Jordan, as a Baptism of Repentance.
The Preacher of The Gospel was a Rather Well Known Deacon, one known all over the Web, & like The Noted & Redoubtable Louie Verrecchio, originally from Maryland. If you guessed that the Deacon is Greg Kandra, enjoy a Cup of Starbucks Coffee for me.  At least Deacon Kandra publishes his Sunday Homilies.
Back to Tridentine Latin Mass for The Third Sunday Of Advent, called Gaudete Sunday. I prefer Holy Innocents Pastor, Fr Leonard Villa, whose Homilies pull no punches in regards to Eternity & The Temporal. Because I can only take the Novus Ordo Mass only so far.
I can barely take “The Armada Of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion”, especially since most of them seem to be in shock when someone prefers to receive Christ’s Body on the Tongue. I know one who puts it in the Side of my mouth.
It’s Novus Ordo Land. It’s Sad, Really. And as that Ukrainian Greek Catholic Lady at St. George’s in Manhattan’s East Village says(And She’s Right), “We Are Not Priests”, to counter the Novus Ordo Mistake of “Sancte Communion A Mano”(Holy Communion In The Hand).

Time to return to Tradition, especially on the Weekends. It’s Good for One”s Soul and One”s Mind.

“The Pope Is Playing The Garden, Just Like Sinatra Did”

The OLD, Traditional EWTN With Mother Angelica still in charge, was a Different Kind of Satellite & Cable Television Channel. Trite Tripe such as what was spoken on EWTN last evening, would be replaced by Mother Angelica, who would have “Ripped Obama A New One.” Mother ripped into the Post Vatican II Style Bishops during the Coverage of World Youth Day 1993, as well as ripping into Bill & Hillary Clinton. World Youth Day 1993 was in Denver, CO.
One wonders WHY I stay with Coverage on Tradition Minded Outlets as “The Remnant Newspaper”, “Catholic Family News” & “Harvesting The Fruit of The Vatican II”, especially when Louie Verrecchio produces his own “Ironic Videos”, stuff which would NOT Make the Cut on EWTN. I eagerly await the Commentary of Michael Matt & Christopher Ferrara, as well as from CFN Media with John Vennari.
Of course, for Contrast, Michael Voris will Rip “Cardinal Dolan A New One”, and totally forget Pope Francis.
Pope Francis I is now in Philadelphia, in a City where Booing Funerals & The Phillies are commonplace for “The World Meeting Of Families” is occurring, as a Prelude to “The October Synod AGAINST The Family.” EWTN is carrying that Coverage in “The City of Brotherly Love.”

So The Pope Played The Garden. And NYC is back to Normal.

“The Parade Of The Hands Out”

It was Sunday, August 23rd, 2015 at the 10:30 AM Mass at a Roman Catholic Parish in Queens, in the RC Diocese of Brooklyn. It was time for the Reception of Holy Communion.

When things were Sacred & Proper, AMNO(Ante Missa Novus Ordo), or Before The New Mass, one knelt at a Communion Rail and received Corpus Christi(The Body of Christ) on one’s tongue in the Roman Rite, also called the Latin Rite.

As people lined up to receive Holy Communion, their hands were jutted foreward. There was the Bow before receiving Holy Communion. It was almost as if this was a Snack Line. Ever Since Communion A Mano(In The Hand) was introduced in the United States through the Connivance of Archbishop Joseph Bernadin of Cincinnati, OH, fixing a Ballot of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops as if he was Mayor Richard J. Daley of Chicago, IL, an Archdiocese which he received the Red Biretta as a Prince of The Catholic Church. Sadly, the Most Blessed Sacrament of The Altar, was being taught to Catholic School and Confraternity Classes as a “Group Meal.”
But, in the effort to make Protestants a group of “Happy Campers”, the Missa Novus Ordo was NOT presented as a Sacrifice, but as an Assembly with Priest as Presider over a Sacred Meeting.

So at yesterday’s Mass, where the Pastor was to head to a new assignment in another state, I viewed perhaps the largest procession of Hands Out ever seen by me. There were people who were in their 80s seen receiving Sancte Communion A Mano. This was TOTALLY Impossible 50 Years ago.

In the Priest’s Homily, he spoke of The “Go With The Flow” Mentality. But there were a few that refused to go with that flow and received Sancte Communion A Lingua(On The Tongue).

For me, IT IS THE ONLY WAY To Do It, along with a few others.

Besides, We Aren’t PRIESTS.
