No Thank You MTLOA(Sed Deo Gratias) With Humor

The Ever Contemptible Metropolitan Transportation Lack of Authority, a Bondholder Benefit Boondoggle Corporation for The Southeastern Part of The State of New York, governed by The Apostate Catholic, Andrew Cuomo, whose Lifetime Membership in The Archbishop Molloy High School Hall of Fame should be revoked forthwith, has found ways to prevent Practicing Traditionalist Roman/Latin Catholics and NY Mets Fans(A Good Number of Whom are Both), from arriving at their planned destinations.
I was unable to arrive at St. Agnes East 43rd Street on time, due to The IRT Lexington Avenue Local being diverted downtown on The Express Track. The 7 Train was also rerouted through a Bottleneck at Vernon Boulevard & Jackson Avenue Station in Long Island City In Queens. NY Mets Fans are in for a rough ride to Citi Field as I speak.

Since I am in no mood to sing “Gloria In Excelsis Deo” in English, to the Opening Theme Song of the Cartoon, “My Little Pony” & since having gone to Tridentine Latin Mass of The Roman Missal of 1962, by returning to the venerable form In 2007, I have met people who recommended The Byzantine Rite and the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom(Bishop, Confessor, and Doctor of The Church, With Feasts on both the Novus Ordo & Tridentine Calendars in the Roman/Latin Rite).

Only on weekends is this charming little cafe’ open. For US$5, I was fed reasonably well. St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church owns & operates this cafe’.

I AM diagonally across East 7th Street in Manhattan’s East Village from Mc Soreley’s Ale House. At 4PM, in English, the Divine Liturgy will commence as 3rd Sunday After Easter in the Julian Calendar.
There are no organs played here. In fact as is Byzantine Practice, The Human Voice is the only musical instrument allowed. There is often a choir. Monophonic Chant is sung here. And there are no Parish Liturgy Committees here. You know the definition of Parish Liturgy Committee is a group of People, involved in the Novus Ordo Parish, who think in terms of “Enhancing” the Mass with “Music”(Songs of Self, of the Treacly Variety, which are sometimes known to induce Vomiting, with long lines at what My Most Dear Friend calls the Vomitarium, usually in the Mens’ & Ladies’ Toilets). Another thing in this world of “Inculturation” is that most of these people have far less training in Music than an Organ Grinder With His/Her Monkey. Traditionalists do not travel long distances to hear The “Gregorian Chant Version” of “The Anthem” by Tom Conry which could be used instead of Waterboarding to get information out of War Prisoners at Gitmo(Ditto, Any Gregorian Chant Version of Any Song by Dan Schutte or Marty Haugen). The Geneva Convention May permit it for sheer laughter. In reality, it would be called “Gagorian  Chant.” The Titular Archbishop of The See of Bababuis, Howard “Cardinal” Stern, would issue an Anathema For This.

For I Thank The Lord for leading me to this Eastern Catholic Oasis in Manhattan’s East Village, to pray The Litanies. It is a deep form of Prayer, This Divine Liturgy.

Crossing That Strait To Go “East”

I will be headed across a Strait via the “Iron Horse”, by traveling Westward to head to the East.
In short, the 4:00PM 1st Sunday Of Lent Byzantine Rite Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom is where I am headed, and that is In the East Village of Manhattan, to St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The Divine Liturgy is the same thing as the Holy Sacrifice Of The Mass.
I am Roman Rite Catholic, but I often seek within One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, a Glorious Liturgy not filled with such distraction as Manufactured Modern Liturgical “Muzak”, nor Novelties such as who gets to present the Bread and Wine to the Priest at the Offertory, nor the Reception of Holy Communion A Mano. To me, singing most of that Muzak doesn’t constitute an Actual Participation in the Mass.
So here where Heaven and Earth are joined in the Divine Liturgy, I shall go. It is here where The Instruction Of Christ to St. Peter to “Feed My Sheep” is done in both Word & Sacrament, where one is Fed the Precious Body & Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, via Holy Communion Spoon.
One cries out to God for the Remission and Expiation of Sins at the Divine Liturgy, with “Lord Have Mercy” chanted multiple Times.

I Missed the “Misdirected Mass of A Short Time”

Instead, this morning, I went to “The Mass of All Time”(Tridentine Latin Mass), complete with Gregorian Chant, Glorious Hymns, Incense and Solid Preaching. It might make Mark Shea itch, but it was a packed house at St John’s Chapel, Middle Village, Queens.

I wasn’t in the mood for such Camp “Favorites” such as “All Are Welcome Except Michael Matt and Christopher Ferrara” and  “Come & Have A Beer On Us”, as this is music that may cause old dogs to howl, setting off car alarms or inspire the local constabulary to call the Parish with the threat of sending a Special Terrorist Task Force.
The Contemporary and Contemptuous Music, Stuff which a Most Dear Friend has called “Vomit”, no doubt was given an Imprimatur by some Archbishop being hidden in some obscure Dicastery in The Vatican, with The name of Howard Cardinal Stern, whose favourite “Gagorian Chant” is “Wow” & Ecclesiastical Coat of Arms reads, allegedly in Latin, “Bababuis.”

Worship of The Lord and Beauty go together and are blessed by One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. So what are these Elements of Beauty and Where are they?

On The 3rd Night of Black

By the title, it was the 3rd Night that I was at the Tridentine Latin Mass, where it was a Missa Cantata Requiem, also called Missa Pro Defunctis. The Purpose is for The Holy Souls in Purgatory, that they may be brought up to Heaven.
This topic is almost never broached in the Roman Rite Catholic Ordinary Form Mass, where the Emphasis is more “Hic Et Nunc” than “Ad Aeternam.”

Rarely if ever is the Soul mentioned at a Requiem Mass in the Roman Rite Catholic Ordinary Form. It seems to be emphasis on The Community.

For I was at Holy Innocents R C Church both last night and tonight. There is even a special version of The “Agnus Dei” which sings to one’s Soul.
“Agnus Dei, Qui Tollis Peccata Mundi, Dona Eis Requiem…Agnus Dei, Qui Tollis Peccata Mundi, Dona Eis Requiem Aeternam.”

Now, it was on “America’s Got Talent”, some months ago, when 3 Young Men from NYC, sang in Latin “Pie Jesu”. This Hymn, which is usually sung at a Missa Cantata Requiem, is Gregorian Chant and is Awe Inspiring. Two of the Judges are Jewish, namely the Comedian Howie Mandel and Radio Legend Howard Stern. Both were in utter awe when “Pie Jesu” was sung. So was everyone in the audience.

We Roman Catholics hear and sing JUNK way too often. Gregorian Chant is my Rock Music.

Art Fleming’s Wiki Is Missing A Comedic Piece

There was a Parody of “This Is Your Life”, which Art Fleming hosted on Super Station WWOR, as part of “The Howard Stern Show.”
Art, in comedic, satirical mode, kept saying with a tad of a Yiddish Accent “Howard Stern, This Is A Life”, making for a comedic piece of Irony.

A Classic! Art even appeared a few times on Howard’s K Rock Radio Show.
