EWTN”Knights of Columbus 133rd Supreme Convention Wednesday Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom”

I may be from The Roman/Latin Rite of One, Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church, but, Any Time I have attended a Byzantine Rite Catholic Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom(Doctor of The Church), I am INTENSELY Moved.

EWTN carried this Broadcast of The Byzantine Rite Catholic Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom(Bishop, Confessor & Doctor Of The Church) as part of The 133rd Supreme Convention of The Knights Of Columbus from Philadelphia, PA. The Prime Celebrant was Ukrainian Greek Catholic Archbishop Stefan Soroka of the Archeparchy of Philadelphia. There were many Priests, both Ukrainian and Latin Rite.
This is a Catholic Liturgy which I am most familiar with. Add The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Honour Guard, and this becomes so solemn. Let me say that, while it is sung in English, with some Old Slavonic & Ukrainian added, it has more of The Feel of The Tridentine Latin Mass, as The Priest faces Eastward.
During The Prayer For Fervent Supplication, I was moved so Deeply, that I was crying, for it was a Prayer calling for the Beatification of Venerable Fr Michael J. Mc Givney, Founder of The Knights Of Columbus. This was before the Nicene Creed.
Great Choir from The Immaculate Conception Shrine Basilica in Washington, D.C.(Part of The Ukrainian Archeparchy of Philadelphia & the RC Archdiocese of Washington, D.C.). And Byzantine Rite Tradition forgoes the use of Musical Instruments so all you hear is live a Capella.

I believe that the Upcoming Sunday Mass will be a Divine Liturgy in the Byzantine Rite Catholic Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom.
I need it to fight “The Good Fight”, as St. Paul puts it.

End Year “Thanks” To MTLOA- NOT

MTLOA is the Metropolitan Transportation Lack Of Authority. This applies whenever MTA NYC Transit’s Subways are run, irresponsibly. Like the Suprise Rerouting of an E Express Train at Roosevelt Avenue, without announcing it, adding 25 Minutes to the trip, DURING RUSH HOUR.

I would have been 15 Minutes Early for a very Faith Filled New Years Eve at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the East Village on E.7th Street in Manhattan, beginning with The Byzantine Rite Catholic Divine Liturgy Of St Basil The Great. Instead, without announcing anything, the E Express Train starts running via the R Local Tracks, making all Local Stops into East 53rd Street & Lexington Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, adding 25 Minutes to my trip, IN RUSH HOUR.

Yet, as I made it to my Moose Lodge in Maspeth, Queens to cool my heels & head, the R Train ran Express on the Local Tracks to Woodhaven Blvd & 59th Avenue, where I caught an uncrowded Q59 Bus. But, after 2016 Rolls in, I will journey to the 6:00AM Divine Liturgy Of St John Chrysostom at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. This way, I will open 2016 Byzantine Rite Style. I just want to do it differently & head to a Latin Rite Mass, probably at St. Agnes on East 43rd Street.

After all this, I will need a Good Rest, away from all this.

12 Hours Alpha & Omega 2015 Into 2016

I am planning to end 2015 & begin 2016, with a contingent of Holy Innocents Partisans, with the Byzantine Rite of The Catholic Church. It should prove to be Prayerful & Mystical.
At 6:00PM on Thursday, December 31st, 2015, a Divine Liturgy will be offered at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on E7th Street. This will be followed by an All Night Vigil, followed by Coffee Hour at Midnight at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, continuing with the All Night Vigil & Divine Liturgy at 6:00AM.
It should be a Peaceful Sleep at Home after this is done.

At Least The Eastern Catholic Churches Take This Synod Seriously

Melkite Greek Patriarch Laham of Syria(Cardinal Laham) let one Cardinal Maestrojuan of Panama have it but good at The Synod Of Doom, calling the Sacrament of Matrimony by its’ Proper Name, with Marriage being the Result of The Sacrament & the Indisolvibility of The Sacrament.

Last Year, another Byzantine Rite Catholic Major Archbishop, Swiatoslav Schevchuk of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, declared the Traditional Catholic Teaching of Marriage is between One Man & One Woman, which was mentioned on “A Blog For Dallas Area Catholics.”

Outside of Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, and George Cardinal Pell, who else gets it?
To his credit, Major Archbishop Shevchuk was defended by Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan.

Meanwhile, the Renowed Correspondent Of The Detroit Warehouse Studio Group, mentioned nothing about the Eastern Catholic Patriarchs &, as usual, ripped Cardinal Dolan, “A New One.”

When does it end? The Correspondent should host “Red Eye” on FOX News Channel.

The Conversation After The Divine Liturgy

The Divine Liturgy Of St. John Chrysostom Is also The Holy Sacrifice Of The Mass, as we of The Roman/Latin Rite understand it. This runs very close to The Mass of St. Pius V. Both share a Root Liturgy, namely the Divine Liturgy Of St James The Apostle In Jerusalem. The Antiochian Rite Maronite Catholic Church offers this Liturgy.
And in the case of Heavy Duty Catholic Liturgy, whether it be Byzantine Rite or Traditional Roman Rite, Intelligent Discussion Ensues. Such is the case after the Divine Liturgy of The 14th Sunday After Pentecost on the Julian Calendar. This Heavy Duty Catholic Discussion is practically nonexistent after a Roman Rite NO Mass, also called the Ordinary Form or Novus Ordo, with the Initials NO for short, unless at a Morning Mass at Our Lady Queen Of Martyrs RC Church in Forest Hills, Queens, where My Most Dear Friend discusses Papal Matters or how poorly done the NO MASS is offered & How The NO MASS came to be, which is often Lively.
So, in the Spirit of Those Conversations of Many a Morning, I had a conversation with a Woman who I have spoken with before. She had spoken to me about the removal by The Vatican in regards to the FILIOQUE from the Nicene Creed(The Double Procession of The Holy Ghost from The Father & The Son, which is a Bone of Contention With the Eastern Orthodox Churches). She had spoken of WHY is The Vatican always making concessions with the Eastern Orthodox Churches, as the Eastern Orthodox Churches do not believe in The Immaculate Conception, nor the Primacy of The Papacy, but do control the System of Divorce. To me she had said “If You Dialogue With The Devil and Make Concessions to Satan, Satan will want more.” This Woman is apparently, No Ecumenist.
She also told me to pray for The Fatima Priest, Fr Nicholas Nightingale Gruner, who had died.

This leads into the Conversation on Our Lady Of Fatima, as I was told that Our Lady will appear for a 7th Time, with the case of the 100th Anniversary of The Miracle of The Sun in The Cova in Fatima, Portugal. There will be Peace if Russia is Consecrated to Mary’s Immaculate Heart, by The Pope In Union With all The Catholic Bishops throughout the World.
This Woman also spoke of Sancte Communion A Mano(In The Hand), a practice only known at the Novus Ordo Mass in The Roman Rite Catholic Church, for she said that Holy Communion should only be handled by Priests & Not Laity as the Priest’s Hands are Consecrated. She also said that WHEN Russia is Consecrated to Mary’s Immaculate Heart, practices such as Holy Communion In The Hand as well as the Novus Ordo Mass, will disappear.
As I do talk to Byzantine Rite Catholics, I find that they are TRULY The Church Militant. Ditto, the Same goes for Roman Rite Latin Mass Catholics.

A ByzLat Weekend During Bellum Voriscum

In the Middle of what is called “Bellum VORIScum”, with “Simon The Magician”, who is the “Censor Pro Bellum VORIScum”, who as Magician, is charged with silencing potential critics who utilize the utterance of a “Four Letter Word”, SSPX, but “Graciously” utter their favorite, uncharitable 6 Letter word, that of SCHISM, I will be headed to Totally Catholic Church Liturgies this Weekend, NOT called “The NO.”
The “NO” is an abrieviation For the Missa Novus Ordo, where the Priest faces Populum & the Muzak may cause for rather lengthy lines at the Vomitarium(Waiting Times Vary from Parish to Parish). The Homilies are geared to Adults who may not even be Smarter Than A 5th Grader.

Hence, between the Utter Beauty and Banality, I opt for Beauty in the Chants of Byzantine & Gregorian and the Solemnity of both the Divine Liturgies of St. John Chrysostom & St. Pius V, offered by Priests offering “In Persona Christi”, Sacrifice to The Holy Trinity, as Reparation for our sins, as “Alter Christus.”

If I want a place with a Table, I will probably head to a Cafe’.

“Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom at the 2013 Napa Institute Conference” on YouTube

This EWTN Special Presentation is of the Napa Institute Conference.
The Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom, Bishop, Confessor, Doctor of The Catholic Church, is a Liturgy of The Byzantine Rite of The Catholic Church as well as the Eastern Orthodox Churches.
Many Traditional Catholics, without access to the Tridentine Latin Mass in the 1970s, often went to the Byzantine Rite Catholic Divine Liturgies, as opposed to the Novus Ordo Mass, because to Traditional Catholics, the Novus Ordo Mass was heavily Protestantized Liturgy.

Do note that in the Divine Liturgy, the Priest faces Liturgical East, just like in the Tridentine Latin Mass.
The idea of Lay Lectors and Cantors, is Byzantine Rite in Origin, but none are in the Sanctuary. In fact, like the Priest, the Cantor & Lector, who are often the same Man or Woman faces Liturgical East just like The Priest. So if you have a Permanent Deacon at Mass preaching The Gospel, this is of Byzantine Rite Origin.
Holy Communion Under Both Species is of Byzantine Rite Origin. Standing for Holy Communion is also Byzantine Rite Origin.
But, Holy Communion In The Hand(A Mano) is Protestant in Practice.
The Byzantine Rite Practice of receiving both Body and Blood, is via Intinction and one receives the Sacrament via a Priest who utilizes Holy Communion Spoon to drop the Body and Blood, Soul & Divinity of Christ in one’s mouth, head tilted back.
If only the Roman Rite could do this, instead of Station To Station, it would cut out Holy Communion A Mano.
If anything, the Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom is Ancient, Traditional, Beautiful and Catholic. The Novus Ordo is NOT.

BUT, the Novus Ordo is still a Valid Mass.

“Buy A MetroCard, You Rocket Scientist”(And A Divine Liturgy)

I had just disembarqued from the Q54 MTA NYCT Bus @ Metropolitan Avenue & Lefferts Blvd in Kew Gardens, Queens. I then  hopped on the Q10 MTA Bus.
Then a delay ensued. A Woman got on the Bus and delayed the trip by the Only Means Possible & that is the Inevitable “Search For Change.” Not Only That, she kept talking to the Bus Driver.
This threw my trip plans off for Mass at St. Agnes on East 43rd Street(Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Place) in Midtown Manhattan, by Grand Central Terminal.
Then I spied that this woman was lugging around what appeared to be legal folders in a wheeled pull me bag.
This action added 15 Minutes to the trip, if not more. Combined with a Sunday Subway Schedule, including underground delays involving the IND F 6th Avenue Train, both involving delays entering both 71st Avenue and Roosevelt Avenue, my plans to be at a Tridentine Latin Mass, in Ma’s Memory, were delayed for want of a MetroCard, by someone who prefers to pay bus fare, by searching for exact fare.
Thanks to this Inconsiderate Person, I am probably going Byzantine again, which means that I will remember Ma, in a majestic setting as this is “One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church.”

At 4PM, I will remember Mom at the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, in the Glorious Easter Version at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on East 7th Street in Manhattan’s East Village. According to the Old Julian Calendar, this is the 4th Sunday After Easter.

“Christ Is Risen, Indeed He Is”(Byzantine Ukrainian Catholics)

So speaketh the Very Reverend Father Bernard Panczuk, Pastor of St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, at the Sunday 4PM Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. For Today, Christ is Risen & Today is Easter Sunday in both the Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches on the Old Byzantine Calendar, as well as for those Churches of the Roman/Latin Rite when these Western Churches are in a Byzantine Rite Majority Region.

The Gospel According to St. John The Apostle, was that of The Story of The Incarnation(And The Word Was Made Flesh). Those of you who go rather frequently to The Tridentine Latin Mass, know this Gospel, because it is recited by the Priest at the End of The Tridentine Latin Mass. Latins do genuflect at the phrase ” And The Word was made Flesh.”
And so, in the Words of Remnant Editor Mr Michael Matt, I “took a knee” at the words “& The Word Was Made Flesh.”

Those of You who often go to the Tridentine Latin Mass(T L M)@ Holy Innocents & St. Agnes, particularly at Holy Innocents, have knowledge of the Byzantine Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, especially the Catholic Version at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on East 7th Street. It is on East 7th Street at 2nd Avenue where a serious building collapse occurred about a week ago. Strange but more People have been going to Liturgies at St. George. It is a Great Sign for the Parish.

There is No Holy Communion “A Mano”, here. Those of you who frequent the “Missa Novus Ordo” with Holy Communion being placed in your right hand, well, just like at the T L M, it will not occur at the Divine Liturgy.
Unlike in the “Missa Novus Ordo”, There is no Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion holding a Chalice. Only the Priest may distribute Holy Communion. The Sacrament is by Intinction and distributed to Communicants using a Gold Plated Communion Spoon.

This Easter Celebration this Year is the 1st Time I have celebrated Easter Sunday Bi-Ritually. Last Week, it was the Saturday Night Tridentine Latin Easter Vigil. This Week it is the Byzantine Rite Catholic Easter Divine Liturgy.

After receiving The Most Blessed Sacrament of The Altar, both Body and Blood, my eyes welled up with Tears, as I returned to the Pew.

A Farewell Blessing by Anointing, to remind The Faithful of The Sacraments of Initiation(Baptism & Chrismation[Confirmation to Those Faithful From The Roman/Latin Rite]) was done by a Visiting Priest, as this Divine Liturgy was concelebrated at St. George.The Blessed(Not Consecrated) Bread, which in Greek is called Antidoron, was given upon request. This is the only known Time of The Liturgical Year that this is done in This Parish.
