The Feast Of St. Mark Evangelist, Russian Easter & Prayers For Michael Voris

27 Apr

I was at the Missa Solemnes of The Feast Of St Mark Evangelist at HOLY INNOCENTS, last evening.
It was the 6PM Tridentine Latin Mass, which was a Solemn High Mass, with Priest, Deacon & Subdeacon.
For you see, St. Mark Evangelist is one of The 4 Evangelists who wrote Gospels. St. Mark Evangelist established the See & Rite of Alexandria, Egypt in The Catholic Church.
The Celebrant Priest was the Pastor of Holy Innocents, Fr Leonard Villa, assisted by Deacon, who is a Priest of The RC Archdiocese of New York & The Subdeacon was played by Eddy Toribo, who is a Sacristan, who emails me with various Holy Innocents Parish Events.
The Epistle was The Prophet Exichiel:
Four Men become as Eagles, Moved by The Holy Ghost to wherever they are needed.
The Roman Graduale was sung.
The Alleluia was sung.
Eddy Toribo proclaimed in Latin, the Epistle which was Old Teatament.
The Gospel according to St. Luke Evangelist was proclaimed in Latin by The Deacon. This was the Time when Christ commissioned 72 Disciples to go forth and Preach The Good News. Everyone worked in pairs.
The Homily was given by Fr Leonard Villa, who read both the Epistle & Gospel in English & spoke of St. Mark.
Holy Communion is kneeling at a Holy Communion Rail and receiving on one’s tongue from a Priest or Deacon. There is no standing & receiving Christ as if He was a Cocktail Snack.
“Faith Of Our Fathers” was sung as Priest, Deacon & Subdeacon were leaving the Sanctuary.

Prayers were offered for Michael Voris & his Enemies.

Talk took place among Catholic Trads about where to celebrate “Russian Easter.” One woman Trad talked about St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on East 7th Street in the East Village. This is a Catholic Church of The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of Stamford, CT. I have often gone there for the Sunday, 4:00PM Divine Liturgy in English. I just have to find out the Starting Time for The Divine Liturgy. I have to experience this Liturgy. Or I can do this at Holy Cross Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Astoria, Queens. Both are Old Calendar(Julian)Catholic Churches.

By the Way, Fr Villa spoke of “The Old Evangelization. Let’s all share the Faith of The Fathers.

Deo Gratias!

End Year “Thanks” To MTLOA- NOT

1 Jan

MTLOA is the Metropolitan Transportation Lack Of Authority. This applies whenever MTA NYC Transit’s Subways are run, irresponsibly. Like the Suprise Rerouting of an E Express Train at Roosevelt Avenue, without announcing it, adding 25 Minutes to the trip, DURING RUSH HOUR.

I would have been 15 Minutes Early for a very Faith Filled New Years Eve at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the East Village on E.7th Street in Manhattan, beginning with The Byzantine Rite Catholic Divine Liturgy Of St Basil The Great. Instead, without announcing anything, the E Express Train starts running via the R Local Tracks, making all Local Stops into East 53rd Street & Lexington Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, adding 25 Minutes to my trip, IN RUSH HOUR.

Yet, as I made it to my Moose Lodge in Maspeth, Queens to cool my heels & head, the R Train ran Express on the Local Tracks to Woodhaven Blvd & 59th Avenue, where I caught an uncrowded Q59 Bus. But, after 2016 Rolls in, I will journey to the 6:00AM Divine Liturgy Of St John Chrysostom at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. This way, I will open 2016 Byzantine Rite Style. I just want to do it differently & head to a Latin Rite Mass, probably at St. Agnes on East 43rd Street.

After all this, I will need a Good Rest, away from all this.

Agnus Dei, Qui Tollis Peccata Mundi, Miserere Nobis.

12 Hours Alpha & Omega 2015 Into 2016

31 Dec

I am planning to end 2015 & begin 2016, with a contingent of Holy Innocents Partisans, with the Byzantine Rite of The Catholic Church. It should prove to be Prayerful & Mystical.
At 6:00PM on Thursday, December 31st, 2015, a Divine Liturgy will be offered at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on E7th Street. This will be followed by an All Night Vigil, followed by Coffee Hour at Midnight at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, continuing with the All Night Vigil & Divine Liturgy at 6:00AM.
It should be a Peaceful Sleep at Home after this is done.
Happy Octave Of Christmas and Happy 2016.

The Church Militant-Go East For It

18 Oct

Can you imagine Paul VI attempting to impose the Novus Ordo Missae on the Byzantine Rite Catholics? Think about the protests which would occur from The Faithful.
Since I am blessed to be a Catholic from New York City, there are, in addition to the Roman Rite Catholic Church, there are the Eastern Catholic Churches, which truly speak of The Universality of One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church.
The Maronite Catholic Church is on Remsen Street in Brooklyn. It is the Headquarters of The Maronite Catholic Eparchy for the Eastern Half of The United States Of America. Our Lady Of Lebanon Cathedral, a former Protestant Community Church, sold to a Maronite Catholic Congregation. This Diocese is headquartered in The RC Diocese of Brooklyn Territory. In fact, Our Lady of Lebanon Cathedral is a few blocks west of the RC Diocese of Brooklyn Cathedral called St. James on Tillary Street.
Usually, I head to two Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Parishes in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Eparchy of Stamford, CT, for the Divine Liturgy Of St John Chrysostom, one being St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on East 7th Street in Manhattan’s East Village, in the confines of The RC Archdiocese of New York, & Holy Cross Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Astoria, Queens, in the confines of The RC Diocese of Brooklyn. So while I am in one Byzantine Rite Diocese, I attend in two Latin Rite Diocesan Territories, the Byzantine Rite Catholic Divine Liturgy Of St John Chrysostom.
Of course there is the Tridentine Latin Mass, so I will head to Holy Innocents RC Church in Midtown Manhattan on West 37th Street between Broadway and 7th Avenue.
Both the Tridentine Latin Mass and Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom are Timeless Liturgies of Ancient Form.

Getting back to imposing the Novus Ordo Form of Liturgy on the Byzantine Rite, just think of the March to the Vatican Mission to the United Nations. Trust me on this one, it will not be a Pretty Sight in the least. Some Ukrainian Greek Catholics who have gone to Novus Ordo Masses, often feel like they haven’t been to Mass at all, shaking their heads, thinking that they were at a Lutheran Service.

I wouldn’t blame them in the least.
And I don’t care what “Schism Boy” in Detroit says, either.

The “Latin” Memorial Day Weekend

23 May

Today on Saturday at 1PM is the Beginning of The Pentecost Octave, which ends Next Saturday, ending Eastertide on the Tridentine Mass Calendar. Mass in Latin is at Holy Innocents in Midtown Manhattan.

Next Saturday, is The Octave Day of Pentecost. It is also a Saturday of A Pentecost Sunday Vigil at Holy Cross Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Astoria, Queens.

I believe that I will be basically attending Novus Ordo Masses on Weekday Mornings Only.

False Ecumenism-“Dialogue With The Devil”

6 May

After The Magnificent Easter Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on E. 7Th Street in Manhattan’s East Village, I soon found out what I have hypothesized about Byzantine Rite Catholics:
Byzantine Rite Catholics know their Catholic Faith better than the Novus Ordo Roman Rite Catholics do.

I had a chance to speak with a Married Couple, the Same Couple I spoke with last year at St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Talk about The Church Militant! In regards to all this “False Ecumenism”, reportedly The Holy See, in order to accommodate what the Woman called the “Schismatic Orthodox”, the “Filioque” of the Nicene Creed, where the Holy Spirit proceeds from The Father & The Son, was removed from the new editions of the Prayer Books, to accommodate the “Schismatic & Heretic Orthodox.” In fact, one of The Periti of the Second Vatican Council, who became Pope, Benedict XVI(Josef Ratzinger), gave the order to do so.

What this devout Catholic Woman from an Eastern Church in union with the Holy See, said is “If you dialogue with The Devil and you give in to him, he will want more because he knows your weakness.”

This Ukrainian Greek Catholic does not trust all this Phony Ecumenism, as one can see how it has worked. Modernism, which is the Synthesis of all Heresies, can be seen in the creation of a Protestantized New R C Liturgy, commonly called The Novus Ordo Mass, which has caused a huge drop in attendance in The Roman/Latin Rite, often forcing the Closure of Churches, as well as a tremendous drop in Belief of The Real Presence of Christ in The Eucharist, with the coming of Holy Communion.
She isn’t trusting of Pope Francis I, what with kissing up to the Russian Orthodox Church at the Expense of the Eastern Catholic Churches. She said to me that at The Time when Pope Saint John Paul II consecrated the World To The Immaculate Heart of Mary, this didn’t follow what The Blessed Virgin Mary had desired, namely The Consecration Of Russia To Her Immaculate Heart.

The Woman also said that Father Nicholas Gruner spoke the Truth on calling for The Pope to Consecrate Russia to Mary’s Immaculate Heart. She says to pray for the Repose of The Soul of Father Gruner.

Modernists In The Church, whether as Material or Manifest Heretics, are known for persecuting Traditionalists. We have
Seen the outright persecution of the Franciscan Friars of The Immaculate, just for offering the Tridentine Latin Mass of the 1962 Missal, because of complaints of Modernist Dissidents, on the Orders of Pope Francis I.
In the latter part of the 19th Century up into Vatican II, 1st led by Archbishop John Ireland who ran the R C Archdiocese Of Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN & James Cardinal Gibbons, Archbishop of Baltimore, MD, during the Late 19th & Early 20th Century, among other Catholic Bishops of Irish Descent, the treatment of the Byzantine Ruthenian Catholic Church as if these people weren’t truly Catholic, by Gibbons & Ireland’s practice of The Americanist Heresy, as well as a group of US Catholic Bishops in 1963, asking Pope Paul VI to close all Eastern Catholic Churches in order to have all Eastern Catholics assimilated into the Roman/Latin Rite Churches. I gather that these USA Latin Rite Bishops feared that their flock might defect to Eastern Churches, on the heels of the Novus Ordo Missae.

Trust me on this one, that the Great Conversations on Modernism, are to be found at the Tridentine Latin Mass or after Divine Liturgies of The Catholic Eastern Churches.
Novus Ordo Catholics can’t stomach any of this. The Majority are way too set in their Silly Ways.

Demonstrators & Plan B Mass Of The Roman Rite

9 Mar

When Life gives you Lemons, if you’re in Manhattan, make Hard Lemonade.
As this was the 1st Day of Daylight Saving Time, which at this time of year is merely a transfer of 1 Hour of Darkness to the morning, I overslept. Also, my building owner decided to dry out my sneakers, I waited. So I made plans for Holy Mass in Manhattan.
The 1st Destination was St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The E Train at Jamaica Van Wyck was running smoothly and so I hopped on until arriving at E53rd Street Lexington Avenue. Then I walked over to E52nd Street to get on the M103 Bus.
Due to a Demonstration, the M103 Bus was rerouted down 2nd Avenue. I was late for the Byzantine Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, so at East 14th Street, I caught the M 101 Bus uptown.
Plan B was the 5:15PM Mass at St. Agnes on Venerable Archbishop Fulton J Sheen Place in Midtown(E43rd Street) between Lexington & 3rd Avenues.

Entrance Antiphon was sung in Latin. A stately Opening Hymn was sung. The Opening Prayers including the Confiteor were said while the Kyrie was chanted in Greek.
Then it was the Introit and the Readings.
The Nicene Creed was prayed.  The Offertory Chant was sung as the Collections were taken up. The Offertory Chant, in Latin, was sung. The Presentation of Gifts was made.
The Sursum Corda was said followed by the Preface to the Canon. The Sanctus was sung in Latin. The Consecration took place.
The Our Father was said. The Peace Sign returned. The Domine Non Sum Dignus was recited. The Communion Antiphon was sung in Latin. Holy Communion was received.
Post Communion Prayer was offered. Prayer & Dismissal was given with Final Blessing. Final Hymn was “I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say”(Written in 1740).

Homily done well in regards to the 10 Commandments & Idols, St. Paul to The Corinthians was about God’s Wisdom;
The Gospel with Jesus throwing the Moneychangers in The Synagogue, both a Curve & Out of the Place.

One thing about St. Agnes is that there is NO SUCH BIRD AS A “LITURGY COMMITTEE.”
To me, as well meaning as these committees are, these people are less trained than an Organ Grinder With his monkey. I think that few of these People have any idea about both Scripture and Music.

I prefer the Tridentine Latin Mass or the Byzantine Rite Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. I am not one who likes the Novus Ordo Mass, except for the Vigil Mass & any Mass at St. Agnes E43 Street, where Gregorian Chant is King, which pleases Christ The King.
I can handle Daily Mass. It is Sunday which drives me crazy.

It is time to revert to the Traditional Mass on Sunday, with the Novus Ordo on the Weekday.

But the Novus Ordo Mass works nicely with Gregorian Chant. Otherwise it is silly or too dry.

And at St. Agnes in Midtown Manhattan, it is done the Right Way. If only other Parishes made the Effort instead of adding Entertainment, which is Distraction on a massive scale.

Gregorian Chant Preserves The Roman Rite.

Donine Non Sum Dignus!

Crossing That Strait To Go “East”

22 Feb

I will be headed across a Strait via the “Iron Horse”, by traveling Westward to head to the East.
In short, the 4:00PM 1st Sunday Of Lent Byzantine Rite Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom is where I am headed, and that is In the East Village of Manhattan, to St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The Divine Liturgy is the same thing as the Holy Sacrifice Of The Mass.
I am Roman Rite Catholic, but I often seek within One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, a Glorious Liturgy not filled with such distraction as Manufactured Modern Liturgical “Muzak”, nor Novelties such as who gets to present the Bread and Wine to the Priest at the Offertory, nor the Reception of Holy Communion A Mano. To me, singing most of that Muzak doesn’t constitute an Actual Participation in the Mass.
So here where Heaven and Earth are joined in the Divine Liturgy, I shall go. It is here where The Instruction Of Christ to St. Peter to “Feed My Sheep” is done in both Word & Sacrament, where one is Fed the Precious Body & Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, via Holy Communion Spoon.
One cries out to God for the Remission and Expiation of Sins at the Divine Liturgy, with “Lord Have Mercy” chanted multiple Times.

Ora Pro Nobis!

Christmastide, 01/02 Until 01/11/2015

2 Jan

This Period in the Current Liturgical Form of The Roman Rite of The Catholic Church, is Post Octave, but part of The Christmas Cycle. So much for the 12 Days of Christmas, which is only a Christmas Carol, the Christmas Cycle does run longer than the One Day per annum.
Right now the ChristmasTime is
The Christmas Cycle called ChristmasTide, which then fades into Ordinary Time after Next Sunday, called The Baptism Of The Lord, on the Ordinary Form Mass Calendar.
It was appropriate today at the start of ChristmasTide to celebrate the Double  Feast Of Saints Basil The Great and Gregory Nanzienzen, both Martyrs and Doctors Of The Church, both like Pope St Sylvester I, and  Saint Athanasius and Saint John Chrysostom, those who fought the Arian Heresy of The Christ only being a Super Holy Person and Not God.  Saints Basil The Great and St Gregory Nanzianzen are on both the Tridentine and Novus Ordo Mass Calendars this Month of January. St. John Chrysostom is on the Tridentine Calendar this month only and on the Ordinary Form Calendar in September.
Ordinary Form Mass Calendar lists Epiphany as Sunday, 01/04/15, while Tridentine Form Calendar shows January 6th.
Byzantine Christmas Day on Julian Calendar is Wednesday, January 7th, with Total Fast on Tuesday, January 6th. Feast of St. Basil The Great is Wednesday January 1st on Julian Calendar(January 14th on Gregorian Calendar). ChristmasTide is extended to February 2nd on Gregorian Calendar for those who are on the Tridentine Latin Mass.
Christmas actually lasts awhile.

Happy Christmas

I May Return To Novus Mass, This Saturday

20 Nov

I realise that One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church in the Roman Rite, has Two Distinctive Forms of Liturgy.
Both come to the same conclusion that the Bread and Wine become the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ.
Both are occasions of Grace. That I must Not Forget. And since it is a Morning Mass, there is no danger of “I Love Me”Muzak.
Note that the 1st Novus Ordo Mass will be at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs R C Church on Queens Boulevard and Ascan Avenue in Forest Hills, Queens, NY.
Later, I will head to Streecha for Thanksgiving Dinner. Streecha is owned and operated by St. George Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on East 7th Street in Manhattan’s East Village. Afterwards, I may head to Holy Cross Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church on 30th Street and 31st Avenue in Astoria, Queens for The 24th Sunday After Pentecost.
Then, on Sunday, 11/23/14, I will head to the Tridentine Latin Mass for the 24th and Last Sunday After Pentecost at St John’s Cemetery Chapel in Middle Village, Queens.

Happy Thanksgiving!
