Vimeo Remains Along With Veetle, Bambuser

7 Jun

Plus when Justin.tv is hooked up, Ustream.tv will rarely be used. You Tube will NOT be used except for carriage repeat from Justin.tv.  Dailymotion will be Vimeo Backup.
Vimeo Streams, will be fed to Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, Google+ and Pinterest. Ditto, Dailymotion.
You Tube Streams from justin.tv will follow Vimeo Setup. Ustream will be also follow the justin.tv stream setup.

But, Vimeo is the Prime Video Streaming Network. Veetle is the Primary Live Network Streaming Feed.

M, Eh!

Perhaps, Why I Am Not A Fan Of Ustream.tv

28 May

This is the Video Streaming Network which is said to be the biggest thing since You Tube and the Best Live Streaming Network. But, the Video Quality from a Technical Stand Point, is not the Best in the world. It has a Public Access Cable Channel Feel to it. Yet, People flock to it because it is so big. Just Like You Tube, Bigger is always better.
Well, I don’t think so. I was an iOS user for the longest of time, if only because I had been a user of Mac OS 9.2.2 & Mac OS X(10 .0 through 10.5.8), so iOS fit quite well. Ustream.tv was a big app a few years ago. So was and is Justin.tv.  I heard of neither Bambuser.com nor Veetle.com.
But, in June of last year, I went to Android 4.0.4, via Sprint Owned Virgin Mobile USA. And the option of going live came about.  Earlier this year I downloaded Ustream.tv, Veetle and Bambuser. Bambuser.com is for Documentaries and News. Veetle is a service which can host almost anything and people do tune into your show while one is broadcasting. Ustream.tv tends to be for Video Bloggers and CBS News Live Feeds, which means the Pros.
Veetle is my primary network. Bambuser serves as the 2nd network.
As far as Ustream.tv is concerned, perhaps some “Warholian Erotica” is the Next Project. Date and Time TBA.

1657 & 2034 Hours ET Are Times

7 May

At 1657 Hours EDT(2157 GMT), an Activation Email arrived.
At 2034 Hours EDT(0134 GMT), I activated a programme from the Email.

Justin.tv is the New “Network II”, of the Live Video Streaming Network Setup. Veetle is “Network I”, with Bambuser being the Backup Network to Veetle & Justin.tv, as “Network III.”
All Three Networks come under “Station Square Studios”, based in Forest Hills, in Central Queens. Bambuser will be used but Networks 1 & 2(Veetle and Justin. tv)are for major events and documentaries. Bambuser will be for documentary and breaking news.

Ustream.tv(Network IV), will be for a certain artistic presentation of a Warholian Style.  It may be plain or simply outrageous, but in the style of Andy Warhol.

Justin.tv is now up.

Justin.tv Added As Third Network

6 May

As for Ustream.tv, that will be relegated to the status of when something outrageous(Warholian) is done. After all, Veetle has been the Web Telecast Home to the Concerts at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Forest Hills Queens NY as well as test broadcasts and one quick documentary in Brooklyn. On Veetle, there is more of a tendency to actually watch the programme live. Watching the replay gets few views.  Bambuser got several live views on the Premiere Broadcast and picked up a few replay views, but the next few broadcasts relied on replay viewers. In the case of Ustream.tv, which the tech writers practically declare to be the Next You Tube, views were very few.
Justin.tv was on my iPod Touch 4G, so it has returned.
My “STAGS Gone” Special, for the Alumni from St. Agnes Boys High School, which folded last June, drew good replay #s on Bambuser, but it looks like it may be headed to Veetle, where there is a chance that a # will watch it live and on relay and repeat. Bambuser has served as Backup Network and the views are coming in for “STAGS Gone.” Part II of that show will be live on either Veetle, or may open the new Justin.tv Feed, being fed to Google+, Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, and tumblr, as well as You Tube.
Justin.tv is well known & it is good to have it return to the Lineup.
The Justin.tv Programs will be fed to You Tube.
Over on Veetle.com, having done “The Fiefdom Called St. Sylvester School”, numbers rose all of a sudden, even when not using Facebook, but using Google+ & tumblr. So, I do tend towards Veetle as my #1 Network.
It looks like Veetle as #1.

Watch My Peer Exits and Justin.tv Returns

3 May

Android Broadcaster has been removed. It tends to be too technical for my uses. But, Justin.tv, which had previously used on my old iPod Touch 4G, is returning here on Android.
I am saving Ustream for something artsy and outrageous, perhaps in the line of a Warhol Stunt.  My Primary Network Streamers are Veetle.com and Bambuser.com.

Justin.tv also gives me access to You Tube and plenty of Social Media. Justin.tv was my 1st Attempt at Live Video Streaming. It is time for its’ return. Most likely, it will function as Sports and News, while Veetle will be cultural and based in Queens. Bambuser will be the Alternate to Veetle.

Ustream gets “The Stunt.”

It is Time for Catholics To Go Beyond You Tube

20 Apr

Years ago, it was Public Access Cable Channels. Eventually, it was the World Wide Web. Then came Vimeo in 2004, followed by Dailymotion and then You Tube. Then the Smartphone Revolution came and one could send a Video into Cyberspace from that Smartphone. Apple came out with the iPod Touch and iPad.
Then, Live Video Streaming Networks came into being. One can make a Good News Piece on the spot.
The Evangelical Christians are using Live Video Streaming Networks for their Wednesday Night and Sunday Services. I see this all the time on Veetle, Bambuser and Ustream.

I have yet to see Lay Catholics doing this. They usually head to You Tube as a matter of habit, though Vimeo is becoming a destination. On Vimeo, it is artists who comment, not imbecilic types who have trouble spelling a 3 letter word, though they have no trouble with the 4 letter kind.

But, one with a Smartphone and the right app, can broadcast any event imaginable.

On Holy Thursday, portions of The Catholic Mass of The Lord’s Supper, were telecast live from Our Lady Queen Of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church in Forest Hills, Queens, NY, over Veetle, an Easy to use Service. Views were not bad at all.
On Good Friday, Ustream was used to televise the St. Thomas Apostle to Holy Child Jesus Walk. But, Ustream, which the experts say is THE Place to get lots of viewers, only registered 11 Views in 25 Minutes of Transmission. Ustream is actually for the pros at the Traditional Broadcasting Networks, who may carry a story which is intended for web telecast only.
Easter Vigil at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Forest Hills Queens NY, was carried on Veetle and 31 views were registered. Part of the Tridentine Latin Mass of Easter Sunday, was carried by Veetle, as it handled a weak transmission signal quite well for 14 views in 11 Minutes. The Bambuser Feed failed twice and needs a stronger data signal to handle the transmission.
But two days before Palm Sunday, it handled the telecast of a portion of The Children’s Stations Of The Cross, Live from St. Pancras Roman Catholic Church in Glendale, Queens, NY. It lasted 3 Minutes and 11 Seconds, getting 18 Views.
Those of you who watch “ChurchMillitant.tv”, the show “Mic’d Up” With Michael Voris, is carried Live on Wednesday Nights, with Live Feed on Livestream. Livestream like Ustream, caters to the Pros.

It is time to “Go Live” & preach the Good News. Many of The services are free. The Results will amaze you. You Tube is “So 2005.”

A Catholic Presence is needed.
You are The Media.

From 3.66 & 4.57 Metres, K of C Free Throw Basketball Championship in Canada Always On You Tube? Why is That, Eh?

13 Apr

For those of you living in the USA, those metric measurements translate to 12 Feet and 15 Feet. Those are the Basketball Foul Lines in the Knights Of Columbus International Free Throw Basketball Championship. Canada is very much a part of these competitions. In fact, I suspect that Canadians produce more Free Throw Basketball Coverage, than Americans do.
Sadly, it all goes to only one source and that is You Tube, just like US Coverage.
One Council Coverage on You Tube, actually was on a Cable News Channel in Ontario, making this the 2nd Council to have event coverage on the website of the Cable TV Service, Cogelco in Ontario. This was in 2012.
But, to those Video Producers of The Knights Of Columbus International Free Throw Basketball Championship, there are other options which may be helpful in spreading the digital news about the competition.  There is the World’s 2nd Largest Video Site, Dailymotion, which is international in scope.  Currently on Dailymotion, 4 Rounds of this competition are running after 3 Years. The Coverage was produced and directed by me in 2011. It is a departure from tradition, but Dailymotion Coverage is a nice option. Also, having a Sports Blog on Blogger is a good idea for embedding your coverage.
Here is WHY I did this:
On Dailymotion, one does not get idiotic comment writers. On You Tube, you risk that, but not on Dailymotion. High Definition looks much nicer on Dailymotion. Part of the Round 2 Coverage actually appeared on the Belgian Website of Europe’s largest privately owned Television Network, RTL, which is shorthand for Radio Tele Luxembourg, a company which also owns Fremantle. Fremantle also owns “American Idol”, “X Factor”and “America’s Got Talent”. Because of the Sports Blog called Blogger, coverage via Blogger was linked from Yardbarker.com. Yardbarker is actually a part of FOX Sports Interactive. So I have coverage of the event, once on the website of a major television network in Europe and via the website of a US Television Network. For those of you producing the event in Canada, Blogger is open to you and since most Canadians live within 120 Miles(200 Kilometres)from the US Border, Yardbarker is also a potential view grabber.
Who knows now that CBC Television has lost the NHL Rights to Rogers Sportsnet, maybe CBC may carry your coverage on CBC.ca. I wonder what CBC Resident Curmudgeon, Rex Murphy, would say in a Polysyllabic Rant about that, except to call it “Insipid Babble and Trite Tripe”, while ranting about the loss of the NHL and CFL, putting CBC in danger of being as powerful as a Public Access Cable Channel in Calgary Southwest(Home of PM Stephen Harper).
Perhaps, as this is now the beginning of The Era of Live Web Television for the event, might I recommend using any of the following 3 Broadcast Services, namely Veetle.com, Usteam.tv or Bambuser.com. All you need is the app for these services for iPhone, Android Smartphone and Windows Phone.
Veetle is the smallest of The three, but one may actually garner more direct live views. Ustream links with Facebook and Twitter during the live coverage and can be saved to You Tube as well. Bambuser links to more social sites than the other two services. All 3 can be used easily. All are free.
A 4th, Justin.tv is also useful, though the app on Android is for a small fee. So with live coverage, you are free to do something different from just You Tube.

This applies equally in the USA and Canada, so maybe a change of venue for coverage would be a good idea. Something new is needed to give the competition its’ due. Exposure is important. Going to the same network as everyone else, may have your video ignored.

Break Free!

In The Live Video Era, Both Over and Under Rated

2 Apr

A lot can be said for You Tube, as it is the World’s largest video site. It has a catchy name. Millions of videos are uploaded on a daily basis. People go there and can find Everything from Intelligent to Belligerent to sheer idiocy. People love to play a numbers game. You Tube is a gigantic reflex action. It is habit. It is also called “Blindly Following the Crowd.” It is “Video On Training Wheels”, to paraphrase critics of the last big target called AOL in its’ heyday as the “Gateway to the Internet.” It is often the only video sharing site known by the masses of humanity, especially in North America.
But an outfit called Vimeo preceded You Tube by 7 Months. Dailymotion also preceded You Tube by 5 Months. Vimeo will be 10 Years Old in November, 2014. But, Vimeo is a service of experimentation. It has Videos from You Tube Superstars of much higher quality. Shane Dawson, Master Purveyor of Insane Silliness on You Tube, may have put his best video on Vimeo, showing an Artistic Side not known to You Tube Only Viewers. A Musical Action Video of Shane is only on Vimeo, in High Definition, and it is great. Jenna Rose Swerdlow’s Hit Single, “My Jeans” has much better technical and artistic expression on Vimeo, where it is shown in High Definition. The Production Process is explained in both videos.
The High Quality of The Videos on the World’s 2nd Largest Video Site, Dailymotion, is attracting viewers. The 2011 2nd Round Knights Of Columbus International Free Throw Basketball Championship Coverage from East Glendale, Queens, NY, is the 1st Time Ever coverage to be seen in High Definition(HD 720p), on a service not called You Tube. Portions of The Coverage were carried for the 1st Time in Competition History, over the website of a major television network, namely RTL in Belgium. RTL owns Fremantle, which distributes “The X Factor”, “American Idol” and “America’s Got Talent.”
Said Coverage Portions which are on my Blogger Site, are linked to Sports Portal, Yardbarker, which is owned by FOX SPORTS INTERACTIVE. So, in a sense, the Free Throw is on FOX Sports(Joe Buck and Ed Goren, do take note).
This made You Tube a moot point. On that HD coverage on Dailymotion, You Tube also showed that same coverage and was comparably ignored.
Vimeo and Dailymotion carried the 4th Round Knights Of Columbus International Free Throw Basketball Championship from East Elmhurst, Queens, NY. Several Thousand Viewers tuned in. You Tube also carried the coverage. You Tube was roundly ignored.
So I rate You Tube as grossly overrated, simply because it may not be right for one’s event and that one may be competing with thousands of others with the same event. It is wanting for the event to stand out on its’ own merits that I chose to go to Dailymotion and Vimeo. In Vimeo’s case, we had as many as 80 Nations viewing the coverage, including nations where You Tube is blocked. In the US, we had loads of viewers. Germany and Belgium had huge viewer numbers. There were even viewers in Iran and Afghanistan, as well as Libya. India viewed the contest on Vimeo. It was even viewed in Vietnam and China.
And on both Dailymotion and Vimeo, there were no people with idiotic comments, unlike You Tube, where someone called “iGirl”, linked me to her baby brother dancing in his diapers.

In live video, it is said that Ustream is the big one, like You Tube and, in years past, AOL. But, there are other services as well.
Lately, in classical concerts including an Opera Rehearsal for La Boheme in Forest Hills, Queens, Veetle.com has been utilised and it serves the purpose well with over 250 Who viewed this show, both live and on repeat. It is smaller than Ustream, but there is a nice, culturally minded niche audience, so mostly cultural events are telecast. I have yet to fully use Ustream and Bambuser, but the time is near to do so. A Bambuser test gave me 9 views for a period of less than a minute, with several social links. For Ustream, the jury is out, but it will be used on Good Friday for coverage of the St. Thomas Apostle, Woodhaven to Holy Child Jesus Walk with repeat on You Tube and Ustream, simulcast on Facebook and Twitter. Bambuser will handle Holy Thursday Evening Coverage and after Holy Child Jesus on Good Friday. Veetle will carry Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.
For Bambuser and Ustream, it will be the start of coverage on both, but I lean to Veetle, but Bambuser does 4 On Air Links.
I will let you know about the live stuff in a couple of weeks. It is an experiment.
I am not finished.
