He Directs The Big Game & Now He’s Seriously Ill

27 Oct

Unlike much of Red Sox Nation, I grew up hating the NY Yankees like you do, but I grew up in Brooklyn.
And there was a great place to hate the Yankees, namely WOR TV Channel 9, then NOT the Property of The FOX Broadcasting Company.
And in 1970, a new Television Director painted the word picture on Channel 9. His name is Bill Webb. I was in my Middle Teens then.
People who Bill Webb has directed on Baseball Telecasts since 1970:
The List is Extensive;
Lindsey Nelson, Bob Murphy, Ralph Kiner, Steve Albert, Steve Zabriskie, Gary Thorne, Tony Kubek, Dwayne Staats, Curt Gowdy, Tim McCarver(On WOR, WWOR, Sportschannel NY and FOX), Joe Buck, Kenny Albert, Chris Myers, Erin Andrews, Gary Cohen, Howie Rose, Keith Hernandez, Ron Darling, Jerry Remy, Fran Healy, to name a few.

And Webby will be MISSED. He has Stage 3 Cancer.

Keep him in your Prayers, Mets Fans & all of MLB, as he has directed The World Series & The All Star Game. He will be MISSED.

Mets Sweep Yankees At Toilet 3

14 May

Daisuke Matsuzaka worked 3 2/3 Innings and got his 1st Win of the Year, with the New York Mets Trashing the New York Yankees 12-7.
In this Derek Jeter Farewell Tour of Baseball, going back to Last Year, the Yankees have dropped 6 in a row to The Mets. The Chickens are coming Home to Roost in The Bronx.
Mets and Yankees no longer the FOX Teams. Now it is Midweek. No Tim Mc Carver to kick around any more.
Actually, it is a Good Thing because it would be a Friday Night Affair on Local TV, Saturday Afternoon on FOX(Torturous, as Joe Buck, Mr Snarkasm and Tim Mc Carver, also called Captain Obvious, were given to levels of low to high acid indigestion and Nausea, with one such 2002 Telecast from Shea Stadium, June 15th, 2002, on the 25th Anniversary of The 1st Tom Seaver Trade, when Roger “Rocket” Clemens, pitching for the Yankees, and loved as much by Mets and Red Sox Fans, as Hitler is in Forest Hills in Queens{NOT}, was given a brushback pitch, sending the Delirious Mets/Red Sox Fans into Frenzy, as both Teams Fans are an incredible alliance with a Sheer Hatred of The NY Yankees, and especially Roger Clemens, Poster Boy for “Lidocaine & Vitamin B12.” Boston Red Sox and NY Mets War Flags Flew at Full Staff, being waved all over Shea Stadium in the Days before “A-Rod”, said by Tim Mc Carver to be “Responsible for Global Warming.” Roger served up a 2 Run Homer to NY Mets Starting Pitcher Shawn Estes and a Solo Shot to The Catcher he beaned in 2000 @ Yankee Stadium, Mike Piazza, sending Mets/Red Sox Allies into Sheer Delirium, with sarcastic chants of “Roggahhh”, in a game from whence Clemens would end up on the 15 Day DL, a match which would have Mc Carver stating that the feud between Clemens and Piazza was over, only to have Buck calling for Clemens to get hit with a Fastball to his noggin)&Sunday Night on ESPN.

The Action of this Series switches to Citi Field, tonight and tomorrow evening. The Yankees leave town, while the Mets are here for a few more days.
Much of The Yankees Club is old and it is starting to show. Much of the Mets Club is young and inexperienced.

But “Dice K” isn’t a bad pickup at all, especially as Long Relief.

From Red Sox Nation NYC to NY Mets Fans, one big, cheering, rousing Chorus for You and Your Team:
“M-E-T-S, Mets, Mets, Mets!”

I Love It at Fenway Park. I also miss Shea Stadium so very much.

DICE K

27 Apr

2 Good Innings and no runs. He looks like he shaved off most hair and shaving Home Plate.

6-6 Mets Marlins at Citi Field, 2 Outs, Runner Chris Young at 1st and Hit by Pitch, End of 9th Inning.

A Spitball, The Red Sox, The Yankees and A Suspension

24 Apr

Last week at Toilet III, a way of Boston Red Sox and NY Mets Fans to refer to Yankee Stadium III, Michael Pineda was a Yankees Starter, accused of doctoring baseballs with banned substances. He won that Game at Yankee Stadium III.
Fast forward to last night and Pineda was caught red handed with unlawful substances on him. He got kicked out of the Game in the 2nd Inning at Fenway Park. The Yankees lost to the Red Sox 5-1. He is now suspended for these antics.
Watching “Al Yankeezeera”, a network true to the Traditions of FOX Saturday Baseball, there is constant and annoying chatter employed by Michael Kay and Company. Can’t these guys ever let the Game Breathe a Little Bit without constant chatter? Are YES announcers getting paid by the syllable? Can you say “Buck and Mc Carver?”
To us in Red Sox Nation, New York City Branch, we got stuck with the YES Network Feed. It is a form of Torment. Michael Kay annoys to NO END. The fact that 80% of YES(Yankees Entertainment SUCKS)is owned by 21st Century FOX Inc, located on 6th Avenue in Manhattan, is enough to cause massive lines at theĀ  “Vomitariums”(A Word, Ecclesiastically utilised for Hymns at Ordinary Form Latin(Roman)Rite Masses, by My Most Dear Friend). No one in The New York City Branch of Red Sox Nation, can stand the Ramblings of YES Network Commentators.
With the Red Sox Victory, with John Lackey pitching a Gem for 8 Innings, just listening to YES Network Commentators making excuses at the end was quite satisfying. YES Commentary appeals to the Lowest Common Denominator of Fans, especially Yankees Fans, many of whom became fans in the Last 48 to 72 Hours.
I compare this to the Coverage of Mets Red Sox in 2009, when the NYC Branch of Red Sox Nation were receiving the Mets SNY Coverage. Gary, Keith and Ron were 1st Class all the way. Gary Cohen, Graduate of Dartmouth College and one time Play By Play fior Pawtucket, is originally from Jamaica Estates in Queens. Ron Darling of The 1986 World Series Championship Mets, went to Yale University and grew up in Worcester, MA. Keith Hernandez was the 1st Baseman of the 1986 World Series Championship Mets & grew up on the West Coast. He also appeared Twice on “Seinfeld.”Ā  They kept us entertained and informed. One Red Sox Partisan noticed how well the angles of play were covered. It should be noted that these games were directed by Bill Webb, who is lead director on “MLB On FOX.”
Even when the Mets took 2/3 from the Sox, Gary, Keith and Ron kept us informed and entertained. No complaints here from The Nation in NYC.

“GO SAWX!”

“LETS GO METS!”

“Thahhhhhhhhhhh Yankees SUCK!”
